The Light Room

Miked up

From the second day of Birdfair 2012, at Rutland. Not the most technically great image, but I liked the juxtaposition of elements in this. By now the Birdfair layout, structure and timings had once again become familiar to me. It was a case of prioritising what to see, who to see what to buy and when. I'd waited months in order to specifically buy some bin's at a good price, and did so from Bushnell. The optics marquee is one I have traditionally walked through quite quickly, so many fantastic bits of equipment, I'd start drooling if I hung around too long.

Today was 'Dilger day' really. The quiz of the day, and certainly not mine later on back at 'HQ' (but that's another story) was 'A Question of Stork' with David Lindo, Stephen Moss, Nick Baker, and of course Mike Dilger. It was an 'interesting' first for Birdfair, with a few hiccups along the way that were entertaining. Later I spoke to Mike, and got my copy of his new book signed (as you do) later to meet up with him again with fellow Friends of Nature at lunch. It was a very hot and humid, yet lovely sunny afternoon, which ultimately led to quiz time again; 'Bird Brain of Britain' - this was the serious stuff.
