I know it's in here somewhere
Today has been another boiling day with highs of 35 degrees, which at times was quite unbearable. We decided to drive to Italy today and visit a photographic exhibition of Marilyn Monroe's the last sitting by Bert Stern along with an exhibition of Giacometti's 'Walking Men' at a place called Bard Fortress which is on the way to Turin.
The exhibits were truly incredible and I thought that the photos of Marilyn were superb, especially the one where she is draped over a sofa naked. I would most certainly recommend buying the book for enthusiastic photographers. It is a real coffee table book.
Giacometti's sculptures were brilliant but most of them I had seen before, but it was a good reminder , also to see some of his earlier work.
On the drive down through the glorious Alps where there were a many alpine cattle, we spotted a huge array of wild flowers by the side of the road. The colours and different textures were amazing and I just managed to spot this little guy rooting around in this bright yellow flower.
