Conkers!!

Well, nearly conkers anyway... it'll take a few weeks before they fall, and the spiky shell splits to reveal the shiny brown conker.

A sign that summer is nearly over and Autumn is on it's way...

I tried really hard to find a quote about conkers - thinking it would be easy, there must be lots of poems that mention them, books with children playing conkers. Nothing. Nada. Ho Hum - it must be just me that likes conkers then.

So - it's nearly Autumn, the leaves are starting to fall, and the conkers are almost ready to play with.
