Sunset
Today's the day .............................. for a red sky at night
Well it wasn't really 'night' as such because it was only about four oclock in the afternoon - but as the days get shorter and shorter, this is what happens.
Because Kendal lies in a north-south valley, we are denied really good sunrises and sunsets. By the time the sun has managed to appear over the edge of the hill to the east, the morning is well on its way. And at the other end of the day, we lose the sun very early on because it is off behind the hill to show the sunset in all its glory to the folk of Arnside and the like.
Ah well - you can't have everything ..........................!
