At last a pump for the Bolger Family
29th November 2016:
The Bolger family have bee at the heart of Wells for Zoe from the beginning, with Elaine having travelled out to Malawi on seven occasions to be fully immersed in all the action, While her Mother Bernie is at the heart of everything that moves in the Charity Shop on Queen St, Smithfield.
Their well is in Mzimba District, the Kamllteteka area, in the village of Kholwani where 306 people will have access to clean safe drinking water.
The well is deep at 11.4 meters and replaces a filthy pong which had almost dried up.
This village is very poor and 50 miles from nowhere, either side of the Zambian border.
Alfred tells me that this is the first development in the area and even though he has travelled throughout the locality arranging for new wells he has never seen or heard of a borehole or a shallow well, not to mention a pump of any nature.
The community are so excited and appreciative and have already began praying for you all who made this major lifesaving venture possible.
