concert at the castle
Tonight we attended a concert by Acoustic Eidolon in the castle at Glen Eyrie. This was the scene as we entered.
The castle was built by William J. Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs, in the early 1900s. Now it is owned by The Navigators, a Christian ministry.
Acoustic Eidolon is a married couple. Joe plays a custom built acoustic guitar with two necks, which he invented. One neck sounds like a banjo, and the other like a guitar. Hannah plays cello. Together they sound heavenly, and have the voices to match! The music ranged from classic Christmas carols, to Celtic, to Flamenco, to a rendition of the rock band Queen.
The concert was held in a small hall with seats set up for 100 people. It was a very intimate concert in a very lovely place!
