Promising evening - shame about the midgies

Tonight looked like there would be a nice sunset, so went walkabout on the moor with the intention of sitting on the terrace at White Wells. No sooner had I sat down when a huge cloud of midgies descended. There was no way I could have waited there so went a bit higher and took a variety of shots. The sky was looking dramatic so rather than wait for that red glow took some shots and beat a hasty retreat.

I am sure the midgies have been worse this year. I seem to vaguely recollect that scientists were devising a contraceptive for them. I wish they'd hurry up.
