Winter geese

I decided to go for a walk in the sunshine before lunch.  I drove around the lanes looking for blips before deciding to walk around the farm nature reserve which few people seem to know about.  I suspect the hide and bird boxes are are trade off for the subsidies that come from establishing an environmental protection scheme, not that I am criticising the farmer.  I just wish more people knew it was there.  I have never met anyone on my walks to it.  There may have been no visitors besides me but the hundreds of Greylag geese seem to appreciate the location.
