Xmas work party

Today I flew from New Plymouth to Auckland, then from Auckland PAST New Plymouth to get to Wellington for our work party. After several hours on planes and in airports I made it to the hotel.

On checking in, it was discovered that when my colleague (who I was sharing a room with) could no longer make it to the party, the event organiser cancelled the entire booking.

No room for me.

No rooms in the hotel.

No rooms in a sold out Wellington.

No family in town.

But found me a friend and her couch and had an awesome flyby visit to catch up (in between going to the party).
