Gig at the gallery
We were singing tonight - "we" being our choir, 8+1 - at the Christmas party for the Friends of Benmore Gardens. The venue is the picturesque but not entirely convenient Benmore Gallery, of which this is a photo taken from the courtyard outside. The event was a sell-out, the buffet superior, and the singing went down a bundle.
For the first time in a few years, the group matched its original name - we were two singers down - so we fitted into the rather cramped space rather better than we have before. I enjoyed the singing much more than I thought I was about to when my speaking voice seemed about to disappear under all the chat at the start, and judging by the singing-along from nearby tables when we came to "Halleluia", the audience were having a ball.
Now the car is unloaded (except for the keyboard - the roadies are in Edinburgh tonight) and I need tea. And maybe a cheeky buttered bagel - and bed.
