Progress?

Nearly all hilltops in Europe are festooned with communications paraphernalia, and the same thing has been happening here.  I love the walk to the top of Mt Pleasant each day, but I regret that we have to have increasing numbers of towers, dishes, etc. erected in such prominent places that they ruin the landscape.  Fibre cable is currently on its way up the hill towards us, being buried underground.  This brings improved communication without the need to construct unsightly structures on top of every hill.  I'd love us as a society to have a conversation about how much development we want, and how much we're comfortable with the creeping changes that are occurring in all areas of our lives, apparently driven by 'market forces'.

I'm no good with photoshop, but have been trying out some of the artistic presets in my little Olympus camera.  I don't know whether I've succeeded in getting the mood I was after, but it was interesting to play.
