Squirmy Worm Win

I was curious to try the functionally named 'squirmy worm' fly after seeing a few comments about it's impending ban for fly fishing comeptitions due to being just too effective.

The flies arrived in the post this morning and I ventured forth to the leat, where I'd probably expect to catch absolutely nothing at this time of year.

Long story short, every deep hole or little pool produced almost instantaneous fish - often one after another - ending up with about twice as many as I'd expect on a good day in the summer.
