The Big Day
This day has been in my work calendar since June, maybe July. It started at 5:30 after a poor sleep. It was a struggle getting into town but once I picked up breakfast for me and my lovely boss (scrambled egg rolls with extra cheese) and tea, everything started to roll. We were in Glasgow by 8:30, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for a photo call with the BBC (photo) and STV and then on to the Disabled People's Summit to launch the plan I've been consumed by for the past few months. It was well received and the Minister publicly thanked us. That doesn't happen everyday.
Afterwards we found a mistake - pretty inevitable when going 100 mph for two months - and some colleagues don't like two words we kept in - but the Minister is on our side and in the end these are little annoyances.
By the time I got home at 9:30 pm, I felt like I'd been out for two days instead of one and the feeling of accomplishment is beginning to blossom.
