Coiffure Mazava

We are now in Anatanarivo. Because I said my goodbyes yesterday, there is internet in the room at the hotel. It is just a little faster than dial up but not much better. I don't know what I was expecting of this city but it has surprised me. This shot was on the road in from the airport. It is quite hilly and we passed lots of rice fields. I think there will be rice with dinner tonight. In the centre of the city are a mixture of colonial type houses and concrete boxes. A funny mix. There also appear to be canals. We have been warned about pick pockets and the majority of the houses and people seem quite poor. Parlez Francais is de rigeur. Another early morning flight tomorrow, ah well.
