We have seen the future

Attended an absolutely fabulous event organised by TEDxGlasgow and Datalab, about the impact of automation on innovation. Summary: the pace of change is incredibly fast; for some that's an opportunity but for many it's a threat to livelihood. The technology and automation change is probably out of our control - it will happen - how we respond to it, is not. An interesting point was made that there will always be inequality but it will be displaced. While a lot of what was being described was scary, the determination of the panel and audience to ensure that no group of people were not left behind was heartening.
