Shaggy Scalycap Fungi
Three walks in the park, a very dull day but no wind. Found this specimen on the third walk. I normally find it at the bottom of this silver birch tree. but until now there has been no sign. Its also quite late for this species. It has excelled itself this year as it is all round the base of the tree. This was the best group but not the largest. I know I have bliped this species a couple of times this year, but at this late stage beggars can't be choosers.
