A short walk through Millmoor Wood

I really enjoy walking through this narrow strip of woodland.  At some point in it's history it was planted up with beech and sweet chestnut trees and these are really magnificent now.  I'd been to post some cards for the wife of one of our camera club members who is in hospital recovering from a fall and a pneumonia infection and thought I'd stop off on the way back home.  We'd been in Stocksbridge during the morning to pick up my glasses from the opticians (I needed them altered so I could read my laptop screen more comfortably) and we stopped off for coffee and cake in one of the coffee shops - very nice it was too and it felt quite indulgent.  It's good to have somewhere like that close to home for an occasional indulgent treat.

An image previously taken in this woodland was accepted for Wath Salon this year.  It's a local salon that is gaining in popularity, apparently there were 800 prints entered this year and I'm not sure how many digital images were entered.  I put this one in as a digital image.  My Small White butterfly was accepted as a print, so I was really pleased to have had two images selected.
