Another very exciting day at Elche General
Sounds like a soup opera!
As you can see from the photos, the looooong waited food has been a real gourmet treat.
Breakfast / Desayuno
All I got was a tee with sugar.
Lunch / Almuerzo (a word that’s very difficult for me to remember)
Soup, fish and carrots. Quite good actually. After 3 days not eating I guess I would have eating anything.
Snack / Merienda (new Spanish word I learned today)
Warm fatty milk with sugar and apple smushed (I was a good girl and drunk the warm milk too)
Dinner / Cena they just brought in while I’m writing this and my photo in ready
Chicken with beans and an apple
My diet districtions include apples and beans…. There’s been an apple in some form on every meal except in the morning when I was only allowed to drink.
Highlights of today
some sort of food consumed
had a long waited shower
husband smuggled dark chocolate for me (it’s practically health food!)
I’m so hoping I get to go home tomorrow. I feel like I could go right now and I’d be all right. In Finland they kick you out of the hospital as soon as possible. I just have to bear with another culture where they actually take care of you.
Another word learned in the hospital life - Sangre - blood. Makes me think that the drink Sangria is named after it’s bloody color or something… Have to look it up once I get hope and have good connections.
