Freezing
After dropping Ben at the bus-stop, I went for a short early morning walk along the river, to take advantage of the heavy frost. I'd forgotten how peaceful it is at that time of day, with only me, the birds (including a very vocal kingfisher) and the occasional keen dog-walker.
Later in the day Chris and I went for a bracing walk round part of the Great Fen. Wildlife was decidedly sparse, but it was just wonderful to walk in the sunshine and absorb the sense of space. The wildlife highlight of our trip was a solitary male stonechat, presumably passing through on migration.
