it’s not Florence

It’s not Paris either (see extra).

As Anniemay is still up North (and going to Liverpool tomorrow, lucky thing) I took the opportunity to go into Central Milton Keynes to do some shopping; you know - the Ho, Ho, Ho sort.

I parked in the multi-story car park at one end, with the intention of walking to the other end and then back.  It’s about 15’ each way, which adds up to a pretty good walk for me, even if it is indoors.  I broke the journey halfway for essential vittles - a coffee and croissant in Cafe Rouge.

I was a little out of my comfort zone, alone in a restaurant.  What do you do?  Most single people sit glued to their smart phones.  I don’t have one, so pretended to look at the photo above which I’d taken earlier.  This struck me as daft, as I’d already looked at immediately after taking it.  In the end I took a couple of photos inside Cafe Rouge.  No one noticed me or bothered me.

It felt like a little bit of France - coffee and croissant (avec beurre et confiture de framboise) served by a French waiter - all for £2.95.

Resolve to visit French style cafes on my own more often and without technological aides, until all traces of self-consciousness disappear.
