The Upside-downer

The day dawned crisp and clear, with the temperature about 50F. It is supposed to be our last nice day for a while, so I took off to look for crane.

Crane I did find. A crane couple that are used to being around people. I think I could have petted them if I wanted to.

I also had some more small birds eating out of my hand. The usual suspects (chickadees, nuthatches, and titmouse), but also a new bird...A DOWNY WOODPECKER!!
