Lady Gar...Goyle

Funny what you can learn along the way..Seems this small church has the odd few gargoyle heads,whereas other much LARGER churches don't !

Public opinion is the belief that they are there to ward off Evil Spirits,but quite the contrary...
Like Notre Dame,it's not what it all seems,and their purpose is quite simply a type of spout to drain the water off the roofs,with the running water along gutters and then through the gargoyles mouth.

Would explain the position of the head in my photo,and the plastic guttering along the side of it...

Mystery solved !!
