Out again

We need to knuckle down to actual work next week :)

Very tired today.

Steve on PA in the morning, and me on boy duty. Charley fell asleep on the way to church so I didn't get to see any of the meeting - he'd have woken up if I'd gone in when they were singing, and had woken up and wanted to play by the time the preach started. I wonder if I took a bag of special/different toys (eg toys specifically for taking to church) and a blanket to sit on, whether I could stay in at the back next time... Might have to think about that. Because apart from the social side of things, creche is just not working (for me) as a reason to come to church. It's just another tots group. A nice bunch, but Charley's not really at the interacting with other babies stage yet. Anyway. Thoughts for another time and place.

Home from church for what was supposed to be a quick lunch, but which took ages on account of Steve and I being so tired and Ben acting up because I suspect he was tired too; then out to the beach again to finish the job of wearing Ben out off. He rode his bike, it was hot, we missed the Birdman again, but we did get a coffee (iced, gorgeous) and Ben had a go on a free trampoline. He became a bit obssessed with a woman biker's boots while we waited for our coffees. First he didn't believe she was a woman because she had funny clothes on (biking leathers, funnily enough). Short hair didn't help. I honestly thought Ben said she didn't have boobs on at one point but he was talking about her boots, which were big and looked like they meant business! She noticed Ben staring at her boots and grinned though ;) and when they left we had to watch to see what bikes they got on. Ben liked the man's bike, it was red.

We went home via the beach again, stopping to let Charley eat pebbles and Ben to climb on rocks, then Ben and Steve (holding Charley) had some races along the prom before Steve was worn out! Charley got put into a makeshift ring-sling style sling using the ellaroo and loved it although he's going to have to learn to sit upright and not lean over if he wants me to do that again. Still, we made it home alright.

Cheese sauce and pasta for dinner, followed by icecreams, and two VERY tired children were parcelled off to bed.

And now, now I'm happily finishing a drawing, in the office / studio / den, on my new desk.

Ahhhh.
