Fireworks at the Tattoo #blipthefestivals
As we went to the late performance of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, this shot was taken after midnight.
I can't resist trying to photograph fireworks. This was taken using my "night-time" setting and hand-held. Meant to take a tripod. Rushed out without one as we suddenly realised that we only had a few minutes to catch the bus we needed to get into town, as we were having a family get together and had been chatting away.
While these fireworks were going off the bands were playing "Diamonds are Forever" in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
One of our family group was beyond tiredness by the time he got home - a 2a.m. bedtime not good when you're 10 - and of course it's back to school next week so we will have to work on bedtime routines.
