The Grand Theatre, Blackpool

I have been a Friends of the Grand member for years but this is the first time I have been on the backstage tour. The original friends, formed in 1973, raised monies to save this wonderful Victorian Grade 2 listed building from demolition. They were also hands on helpers.


The theatre is magnificent and I wish I had taken my dslr with me and taken more care with the photographs, but it is too late to worry about it now. 


This little area is the entrance to the dress circle and it is still my favourite area despite the grandness of the theatre itself.
 
I enjoyed the tour and it was interesting to hear a little more about the history. It was also good to stand on the stage and see the theatre from an entirely different angle to the one I am used to seeing it from.
