Carrock Fell
Two more Wainwrights (High Pike and Carrock Fell) brings our tally up to 107 or more importantly half way point out of the 214 total.
It was not as sunny as predicted and the very light winds forecast turned out be a bit stronger. It was ruddy cold but fortunately we were both wrapped up well.
The snow on the top was quite hard to negotiate due to deep drifts which had crusted over and bog underneath. We made it through slowly. Only 6.5 miles but that is about all we can manage in the current short daylight period.
When we got to the top of Carrock Fell the setting sun was lovely but we couldn't hang about as we needed to get down before dark and the path was not at all clear.
