Portents (a.k.a 'It doesn't take Nostradamus....')

Looking across here our destination for a morning walk was to head left (just off the picture), through those woods and over the fields to Hawksworth which you can see in the distance at the top left. We'd then head off to the right of the photo and back through the fields.

It's a lovely walk with a chance of seeing deer and plenty of views.

Apparently if cows are lying down then it's going to rain; but only one of those cows was on the grass, and she's Mad Lizzie who apparently had been on the vodka all night and had no intention of standing up, rain or shine.

But probably a better indication are the looming clouds and the humidity...

Either way the cows were wrong (apart from Mad Lizzie) and it bounced rain just as we got to Hawksworth. Wearing waterproof stuff is *horrible* when it's humid!

Anyway it didn't ruin a great walk and it gave me a bit of commentary for this photo :o)
