A Day At A Time.

I had a surprise invitation to go for a walk along the coastal path at Coldingham Bay after my shift today.

The morning had started out hot and sunny, but as the hours drew on, the cloud returned.

And with it the rain.

We met at the New Inn and drove to the beach. Not to be put off, we trudged along the cliff tops in the drizzle, getting wetter by the minute.

But it didn't matter at all.

We returned to the New Inn in the hope of some dinner. But we were told very coldly that there was a two hour wait for food!

And that didn't matter at all either.

We crossed the road to the Anchor where a much warmer welcome awaited us and some very acceptable food soon afterwards.

And later, we said our goodbyes and returned home through the rain and gathering gloom.

The weather (and the staff of the New Inn) had conspired to make our impromptu rendezvous wet and very grey.

But that didn't matter one little bit. Everything I wanted to see was in bright colour!
