New Guy In Town

Imagine my surprise when I looked out the window and he was looking back at me.  This is a big bird!  He was making a lot of noise as he polished off the last of the suet, but I was thrilled to see him.  This is the first time a Pileated Woodpecker has stopped by but I hope it won't be the last.  First on my list of errands tomorrow is to stock up on suet.  After I do that, my blipbuddy Mary Jo and I are headed south to stalk owls which are rumored to be in their favorite spot about 20 miles away. We've had some serious rain the last couple days but we're hoping for nice weather and a lot of owls.
