Still See Damage From the Fire
During Hurricane Matthew, five condo buildings in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach, SC were lost to fire. A story circulated the fire started from a downed power line during the storm. The top photo is looking through a palm tree across the street from 3 of the buildings. In the extra, you can barely see the ocean above the debris from one of the burned buildings and at the base of the sky on the sky on the horizon. Today, the lots of two of the buildings on west side of Ocean Blvd. have been cleared and cleaned. The three lots on Ocean Blvd. that are also oceanfront still have a burned building on one lot, burned debris on the the second lot, and the third lot has been cleared. Once the fire started, it jumped quickly from one building to another including to buildings across the street due to the high winds of the hurricane.
