Wrecked!

I walked part of The Wirral Way today with a group of 14 people organised by Catherine from my book club. The weather was changeable to say the least with some quite heavy rain at times but it cleared up towards the end of the day and turned into a sunny enough evening to dry us all off.

We were out for about 6 hours but had a couple of very welcome stops to eat sandwiches/cake/ice cream etc and enjoy the views across the Dee Estuary to North Wales.

This shot was taken outside Sheldrakes restaurant on the beach at Heswall where the estuary is so silted up you feel you could walk across to those Welsh hills... but I wouldn't advise trying unless you fancy getting very bogged down indeed!
