Purple Heron

A Purple Heron in flight, not a great photo but I love the look of this huge bird, firstly how well it's plumage blends into the background of the palm trees and how utterly prehistoric it looks in flight, if you look closely those claws look more like talons and there are two drops of water captured. It's one of those 'if only' I had been a bit quicker and 'if only' it was less shaky! There's always next time, but one very impressive bird though!
