Tenerife- the last cruise

An air of sadness and nostalgia hung over the ship today as it goes into dock for a major refurbishment.
 
There was an air of the Maria Celeste about the place with everything closed, not a person in sight and just the silence.
 
 
When it re-emerges we suspect it will have been seriously revamped and the day of the cheap and cheerful cruise will be over.
 
Among the guest getting off was Brian, a 91 year old solo traveller on his 16th holiday this year.
He was as thin as a whippet, very talkative and travelling with minimum luggage.
 
Well, it certainly beats living in a retirement village or residential home.
