A day of brick-laying, wall building, manhole extending, drainage laying, in 30 degree heat (well it felt like it). Interspersed with a trip to Colchester shops with G to buy her some more clothes as she is in rags. ?!!

The line of traffic going in the opposite direction towards the coast was almost non-moving for the best part of 8 miles! But as we'd driven against this line the whole way, we knew there was no accident to be seen, no temporary lights or sewer collapse to slow it down. It was just too many people trying to get to a piece of sand. Someone really should have told them the tide was in anyway:)

Emma was very kind and taped up the downstairs loo with this message - just so I encountered nothing unexpected while my feet were dangling down the manhole.
