Hello Father Christmas

I headed into Katoomba this morning to hand out pamphlets promoting Rotary's Super Santa Photos.  This is a wonderful initiative of the Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains Sunrise.  Our friends Marg and Jim (often mentioned in my blip journal) are playing a major role in the fundraising event that has become a popular part of the Christmas activities in Upper Mountains.  I'm sure we all have memories of having our photo taken with Santa.  I learnt something today - Santa is 88 years old and a member of Rotary, what about that!!

I spent most of my times just outside the Coles Check Out area and made sure I hijacked the parents with tiny children, particularly the ones with children kindergarten age and below.  Anyone who walked out with a little one sitting in their supermarket trolley was fair game I reckoned!!  You have to be a bit strategic about these things!!

On a more serious note, our Rotarian friend Michael is a wonderful portrait photographer and for the past few years has given up his time to support this great Christmas activity.  And what about Father Christmas, at 88 I reckon he's doing extraordinarily well.

The bonus for me was meeting up with so many people I know, who now I know like to do their shopping at Coles :-)
