Memory

This one is a blip totally for katie. It's simply a snap of a moment so familiar to us, so precious. Its how her and B are when I picture them together in my head. B sat with her arm around Katie, where it routinely lifts to give her a squish. Katie's hands on the piano apart from when they stop to pat B affectionately or more hastily when she remembers the exciting news she's forgotten to tell her. The piano covered in treasures. Many from B's adventures and many from Katie. The pot of pencils which Katie adds to whenever she goes somewhere interesting. Dried flowers from our garden & paper roses she made. The teaching bag that has to be brought in from the hallway and put under Katie's feet as she's a long way from reaching the floor, though she's getting that the teaching bag is almost too high now..... all these things are every day, just part of Katie's routine, but are very important to her. The kid absolutely adores her B. Shes earnt a very special place in Katie's huge heart.

It was an early morning lesson today. I was really proud of how Katie worked today. She'd done an exercise she's very good at & it had gone badly and she was on the verge of a wobbler. But she pulled it round, found a smile and shook it off to play it perfectly. She then went to play one of her pieces and her and B did some fantastic work together working on a bit she'd not yet mastered- fixing it swiftly, calmly and with smiles & delight as it came together.

Katie's being very tolerant of the fact that her imminent panto schedule is going to take over life and that we need to protect dance and music, so today was more accepting of not going swimming. She was in bed by 6, though it was closer to 7 when she was settled and asleep.
