Beginning of the Christmas Season

It seems to me as if there is no more futile festivity than the Thanksgiving feast. I do love this tradition , coming from the days where American immigrant families that had spread out all over the country came together in the old original farm house to gather, visit and say thanks. So much good food covered the table. ( For us too last night in the house of friends)
But come the day after Thanksgiving and it seems now as if  there has never been a cozy get together. Early in the morning the shoppers went out to acquire some Black Friday sale advantages.busy streets, fights over empty parking places. ( In Reno one man was shot dead in  a fight over a parking space in front of Walmart) Little Santas in their red and white costumes were waving with billboards alongside the streets. People were getting their christmas tree. Many houses got their christmas light decoration today. So christmas season was open right away.
Next Sunday I believe that it will be the first Advent Sunday. But when you look at the picture of today, it still looks like fall, we had temps of 14 degrees C and the big cotton wood tree had not even lost all his dry and papery leaves. Some colder weather is predicted for Sunday. There is some snow on the mountain ranges of the Sierra Nevada. But not much...
Thank you for visiting and leaving stars and hearts. Yesterdays picture came even into the popular pages. That was a pleasure to see!
