The long road

not the photo wanted to use but for some odd reason there was no EXIF data on the other ones.
This is the road to Huntly Castle.
It was gorgeous sunshine when we left Aberdeen today and headed to Huntly for a picnic. First time we've got out there this year, the weather over the summer holidays has been so dire.

Had our picnic and just starting to settle down with a book when my daughter lost a flipflop in the river...yep not the first time this has happened but this time it sailed away down the river and then disappeared, never to be seen again.
Of course she had no other footwear with her! So hubby had to drive to Asda and buy her a new pair. She said she wasn't fussy about what she got...that was tough, she'd not have to be fussy and get what she was given...£1.50 replacements.

Kids did some tubing.

We walked along this road to Rizzas and got ice cream and then again back along it to the car and home.

Gorgeous sunshine has disappeared and it's now dull and cold(er)
