Marking the Borders

About 5 minutes from home, just past the first viewpoint where we sometimes drink coffee, is this pole. It marks the border of someone's forest and I suspect it was there to help the replanting gang a year or so ago.
Judging by the way Rusty is sniffing it isn't only humans that use this pole to mark their territory or presence. He is about to do the same himself as dogs do!
