'Roman' frieze

Another quick 'on the hoof' snap, taken as I was heading to the station this morning.
I have no information about it and a very quick Google search hasn't helped either.
But taking into account the foreground character's clothing and the eagle at the top I'm guessing it's referencing a Roman battle - I know there are a lot of archeological sites around there.
