Floor insulation
Today we got a new central heater installed and our floor was insulated by means of sea shells. A 30 centimeter thick layer of shells was sprayed under the floor. The space underneath the floor was very wet and damp; the shells should fix that. This should also get rid of the many silverfish in our house. Let's see how that works out.
The air between the shells also acts as an insulator and that's another good reason to have the shells under our floor. The work was done surpassingly fast: it took a bit over an hour.
The new central heater can only be programmed through an app on a smartphone. I'm trying to figure out how this works; so far I am only able to program times for getting up and sleeping. I'm sure it's also possible to program blocks of time when we are not in, I just need to figure out how this is done...
