Berries

Walking through old St Michael's cemetery today, I heard blackbirds in the yew trees -  they are having a feast on the beautiful red berries. (Apparently the berries are the only part of the yew tree not toxic to humans, however the seeds are poisonous.)

I was reminded that it's time to start making an Advent holly wreath for the front door. There are plenty of berries on the holly bush in our garden, but the birds are busy eating those as well, so I'll cut some branches tomorrow.
