Twig Parachute
Not much of a mystery, but the tiniest object I photographed today, on a damp and dreary walk round Thorpe Wood. Mind you, it was still good to get out into the fresh air, after a morning writing reports and drawing maps. Another report completed - only three to go now!!
The caps of this little fungus are rarely more than 1cm across, and it is often found growing on old bramble stems or other dead twiggy material. It's very common throughout Britain and Ireland, but often overlooked because of its small size.
