Lost in Translation
Each morning in Venice I started the day with a visit to a local bar for a cappuccino and a brioche (croissant). Today we made a visit to John Lewis where I had a cappuccino and a brioche. The cappuccino in Britain is little like a cappuccino in Italy, and I am afraid nothing has been gained in translation.
A visit to the Mariner for Sunday lunch perked me up slightly, though as I was driving it did not perk me up as much as it might have done otherwise.
