Paragliding Away

It is not every day one gets to witness a young woman's first flight, but today was just such a day. We drove up to the Clavario lookout west of town intent on hiking the hundreds of stairs to the top of the hill. When we pulled up, a young woman was getting ready to leap from the 300 meter tall hill. We found from her dad, who was helping her get organized and into the air, that her siblings had already taken the leap, but today was her turn. Once in the air, her dad talked to her constantly via walkie talkie as she swooped and soared over the valley far below giving her instruction on how to stay aloft. She stayed up so long we were forced to leave before she came back to earth where we and half a dozen others were watching with great interest.
