2016 Sunday -- 3-Dog Day
Three dogs snoozing on our bed -- I captured this at 10:00 this morning as we watched the rain outside and decided we had been given a morning that allowed us to stay in bed drinking coffee and lingering long while watching the weather and wandering through pages of books we had longed to enjoy.
The rain stayed all day, providing the much needed moisture the dry California land has longed for and the farmers have prayed for.
At 3:00, I finally got dressed, not that we were going anywhere. Mr. Fun had a large pot of beans cooking which was warming this little abode and filling the air with a delicious aroma.
Slightly after 5:00, I mixed some cornbread batter and filled the little wells in a cupcake pan, put it in the hot oven, and before 6:00 we were enjoying a delicious lazy-man's meal, a healthy meal -- a simple pot of pinto beans slow-cooked all day. A spoonful of beans mixed with kibble was also enjoyed by each of our three pups for their dinner.
And our evening was more of the same: reading, corresponding or actually commenting on Facebook, on Blipfoto, on Messenger; and watching YouTubes. We have no TV option here at our little beach shack, a good option to be without.
The weekend before Thanksgiving, this is our preferred way to spend a Sunday -- under a roof, in the warmth, and near the rain.
