X Stitch ......

As it's such a gloomy day  I have been looking through baskets and boxes of wool, material, threads, ribbons etc. and came across this x stitch alphabet I must have started well over twenty five years ago.  I've got to U and as this was an American kit U is for USA flag and I wanted to do a Union Jack.  It obviously got put away as it all seemed so complicated at the time.
Now looking at it some of the letters stand for American things i.e. J for jack-o-lantern, so maybe I should have made things easier for myself and just followed the chart.   Now it is out I should persevere but I haven't the patience I used to have and it's very fine cloth.
