A lovely day in London to celebrate my partner's birthday. We saw the fascinating play One Night in Miami, a fictional account of the meeting of Malcolm X, Sam Cooke , Cassius Clay and Jim Brown after Cassius Clay ( Mohammed Ali) 's victory over Sonny Liston and immediately before his conversion to Islam. Then we went to Covent Garden for macaroons before dinner in a hotel jazz lounge with a great live band ( Jayne O'Mahoney) before adjourning to the cigar lounge. 10/10 I was told!
