The Botanical Gardens of Bogor

This is as pectacular botanical site. Founded in 1817, it is the oldest botanical garden in southeast Asia. For a short period of time, Java became British. Sir Stamford Raffles became the Governor residing in Bogor, some 60km south of Batavia (Jakarta). His spouse died here and her tomb is still in this garden.
