Whitby from our Window

Thanks so much for everyone's good wishes yesterday for our little holiday. So far, so good - we had a good journey (not very long of course) and the harbourside apartment is lovely - with a super view from the window as you can see.

We went for a stroll after dark (one doesn't have to wait very long for that in November!) and took a few photos although I wasn't allowed to stop for long, or faff with a tripod, as the Editor was feeling the cold in spite of her thermals. The first extra is taken looking across to the west side of the harbour from the east end of the swing bridge (I rested the camera on the railing, but had to wait until the traffic stopped or it vibrated), and the second is an "action shot" of a boat going through the open bridge, taken from the west side,
